1. Product Description
The scientific name of propylene glycol is "1, 2-propylene glycol". There's a chiral carbon atom in the molecule. The racemate is a viscous liquid with easy hygroscopicity and a slightly spicy taste. Soluble in water, acetone, ethyl acetate and chloroform, soluble in ether. It can be dissolved in many essential oils, but it is not miscible with petroleum ether, paraffin and grease. More stable to heat and light, more stable at low temperatures. Propylene glycol can be oxidized to propionaldehyde, lactic acid, pyruvate and acetic acid at high temperatures.

PG is the raw material for preparing unsaturated polyester resin, plasticizer, surface active agent, emulsifying agent and demulsifying agent. It can also be used as mould inhibitor, antiseptic for fruit, ice inhibitor and moisture preserving agent for tobacco.
PG USP grade can be used in cosmetics, perfume, animal food, detergent, antiseptic for fruit, coolant in food and moisture preserving agent for tobacco etc.

It should be packed in galvanized iron drums with the net weight of 215kg/drum, ISOTANK and Flexitank.
This product can not spontaneously combust but absorb moisture easily when uncovered.
